Comprehensive women's care

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus Women’s Center’s OB/GYN providers offer care for a wide range of conditions, including:

Receiving an annual well-woman exam and regular screenings can help reduce your risk of developing chronic and severe health conditions, including cervical cancer. Women are recommended to receive a pap smear every three years from age 21 – 29. From age 30 – 65, it is recommended to receive one of the following: a pap smear every three years, an HPV test every five years or a combination of an HPV test and pap smear every five years.

Labor and delivery care

Throughout your labor and delivery process, the safety, comfort and health of you and your newborn(s) is our top priority. During your time at the University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus, you will have access to a team of labor and delivery specialists as well as state-of-the-art amenities, including:

  • Private birthing suites with large tubs where you can labor, deliver and    recover without moving rooms
  • Wireless fetal monitoring and infant security systems
  • Onsite level II special care nursery
  • Golden hour bonding practices, including skin-to-skin contact,                delayed cord clamping and delayed bathing
  • Onsite lactation consultants
  • First day clinic
  • Labor tools, including birthing balls, birthing bars, hydrotherapy and aromatherapy
  • In-unit surgical suite for C-sections
