Dr. Leigh Gilpin, is a urologist, specializing in prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), kidney stones, and female urology. Grounded in a care philosophy that treats every patient as a cherished family member or friend, Dr. Gilpin is committed to making a positive impact on their lives. Trained in both robotic surgery and endourology, he offers advanced expertise across the spectrum of general urology.
Motivated by an early exposure to medicine in college, Dr. Gilpin embarked on a healthcare career to effect positive change for his patients. Originally from a small town in Missouri, he chose to work at St. Francis Campus, allowing him to be close to family and friends and effortlessly connect with rural patient populations.
Dr. Gilpin holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, complemented by a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Missouri. His medical education is further enriched by his residency at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, West Virginia, where he also completed a preliminary surgery internship.
Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Gilpin enjoys watching football, reading, and spending quality time with his wife and son. With two years of private practice experience in rural northern Michigan and a recent move back closer to family, Dr. Gilpin combines his clinical expertise and patient-centered approach to deliver comprehensive urological care.
