Dr. Vimalkumar Patel a pulmonology and critical care medicine specialist within the inpatient critical care unit at The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus. He attended medical school at St. Georges Medical University in Grenada, WI and has completed two internal medicine residency programs and a pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship.
Dr. Patel provides services such as bronchoscopies, chest tubes and endobronchial ultrasounds to our most critically ill patients. He takes special interest in caring for patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and undifferentiated shock. Dr. Patel is extremely passionate about the work he does and enjoys his interactions with his patients and their families. He also is a strong advocate for a positive patient care experience and enjoys being able to educate medical staff and work toward continuous improvements in efficiencies and quality of patient care.
Dr. Patel is married and his wife is an endocrinologist. In this free time, he enjoys reading, watching movies and spending time with friends and family.
