About Debbie Name, PA-C
Debbie Name, PA-C is a family medicine physician assistant with more than 20 years of healthcare experience caring for patients across the lifespan. She earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Wichita State University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. Debbie brings broad clinical experience in family medicine, urgent care, women’s health, pediatrics, geriatrics, and chronic disease management, allowing her to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to individuals and families.
Debbie’s care philosophy centers on shared decision-making, open communication, and treating each patient as a whole person rather than a set of symptoms or test results. She believes in listening carefully, providing honest and evidence-based information, and working collaboratively with patients to develop personalized care plans. Her medical interests include preventive care, lifestyle modification, diabetes management, cardiovascular disease, pediatric illness, and minor procedures such as skin biopsies, suturing, and mole removal. Debbie is committed to creating a respectful environment where patients feel supported, informed, and empowered throughout their healthcare journey.
Debbie has always known she wanted to be a nurse and devote her life to caring for others, a calling that ultimately led her to pursue an expanded role as a physician assistant. She began her career in nursing and emergency medicine and later served for 10 years in the Kansas Army National Guard, including a deployment to Iraq in 2007–2008 as a battalion medical officer and nurse. Outside of work, Debbie enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, attending sporting events and school activities, traveling, watching Royals baseball and K-State football, and dreaming of one day living on a farm.
