Gillen is compassionate and displays genuine care and concern to his patients. He has an excellent bedside manner. He's open and honest when discussing health issues. He always listens to your concerns. He will tell you if your expectations are not realistic based on the evaluation of your condition.

Dr Gillen listened intently as I shared my plan regarding surgery. He very professionally and courteously Informed me I would need to readjust my plans. I agree with him. Take care of the most serious and problematic first.

I knew he was going to take out the plate and screws out of my left arm but he did not give me any info on the surgery itself.

I was shocked when the doctor not only explained the possible surgical requirement to fix my shoulder, but I was actually blown away that he was able to explain that I needed to see a different surgeon first in order to better get a resolution. He was able to get me a referral and by the end of the day I had the appointment I needed. The doctor had no ego and treated me like a human being. I honestly felt like he understood my concerns and was able to quickly put me at ease and create a possible plan to help me.

He answered my questions and was definitely knowledgeable and concerned about my situation.

I'm not impressed with his manner and not sure I will continue to see him

Most of the information Dr. Gillen shared was complete and helpful. However, he indicated I would be able to put weight on the affected foot. After the surgery I was not able to put weight on the foot. This caused a lot of problems that I had not anticipated. I think better information about both possibilities would have been helpful.

I had to restate multiple times that one of the suggested treatment options was not viable for me.

My options were explained thoroughly which made my decision easy.

VERY poor care. The doctor did not care about my continued issues after multiple office visits, Mychart messages and phone calls I made. Would NEVER recommend this doctor.

Nice doctor and nurses.

The doctor was very attentive and caring. He took a lot of time examining my elbow and explaining to me what was happening. He was a very nice man.

Doctor explained what was going on with my knee and why I was feeling weird. This helps me understand that it is normal. Doctor was helpful.

I drive 2.5 hours to be seen by Dr Gillen. That should tell you all you need to know.

No complaints

Gillen was the one that finally listened. I hope that we have finally found the problem that is aggravating everything else. With treatment and additional pt, I hope to forego surgery for a while.
