Visitor Information

Our visitor guidelines are designed with your health, safety, and comfort in mind. We recognize the important role visitors play in supporting patients throughout their healthcare experience.

Visiting Hours

  • Visiting hours are 5:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m. Visitors are not allowed to spend the night.
  • After 6 p.m., all exterior entrances close except the emergency room. Visitors may exit through any door, but re‑entry between 6 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. must be through the emergency room entrance.
  • On weekends, visitors should use Entry A (open 5:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.) or the emergency room entrance. There is no access to Entry B or Entry C from the visitor parking garage on weekends.
  • A process is in place to accommodate special circumstances when the presence of a support person is essential. This may include situations such as end‑of‑life care, parents of newborns, parents of pediatric patients or other circumstances where visiting a loved one is critical. In these cases, visiting hours may be adjusted with nursing approval to meet the needs of the situation.
  • To preserve patient privacy, please do not gather outside of patient rooms; there are waiting rooms on the unit.
  • Please check with your nurse before bringing children under the age of 14 to visit. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. Children of admitted patients may not remain in the hospital alone while their parent is hospitalized. In addition, we strongly discourage bringing infants as visitors.
  • Please remember that patients need a quiet, restful environment to promote healing.

Your Right to Choose Visitors

You have the right to choose who may visit and support you during your care. Visitors may include family members, friends, a spouse, a domestic partner or others of your choosing.

General Guidelines

Visitor guidelines may vary based on a patient’s condition, need for rest or safety considerations. Guidelines may also differ depending on the location and type of care being provided. If you have questions, a member of your care team can provide guidance specific to your situation.

Visitor General Guidelines

Guidelines for visitors may vary based on care area or the patient’s condition and need for rest. Please refer to our care team if you have questions.

Health and Safety:

  • To protect our patients and staff, we ask that visitors who may be ill not come to the hospital.
  • All visitors must be symptom free (no fever, respiratory symptoms, signs/symptoms of COVID-19 or awaiting COVID-19 test.)
  • Masks are optional for all visitors. In some areas, masks are required and one can be provided upon request.
  • Visitors who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the past 10 days and remain symptom-free are strongly recommended to wear a mask at all times in the hospital.
  • Visitors should wash or sanitize their hands frequently, including before, during and after visiting.
  • State law prohibits smoking in any of our facilities, and tobacco use of any kind is not permitted inside our buildings, parking garages or on sidewalks surrounding our facilities.
  • For the safety and comfort of our patients, staff and guests, we enforce a zero tolerance policy for violence. Any violent or aggressive behavior may result in prosecution. We appreciate your support and cooperation in helping us create a safe, healing environment.

Contacting a Patient

To determine whether a caller may be connected with a patient, the operator will request the patient’s first and last name. The name given must match our records exactly. If the patient is listed, the operator may transfer the caller to the patient’s nurse or provide the patient’s room number, if it is known and appropriate to share.

Visitor Parking

  • Visitor parking is available outside Entrances A and B, located off 7th Street. Additional parking is available in the parking garage on the west side of the hospital, accessed from 7th Street near Mulvane Street.
