Dr. Gupta-Burt received her Doctor of Medicine from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and subsequently received her oncology training at the National Cancer Institute. She has served as Medical Director for the Radiation Oncology Department at St. Francis Campus since 2019. She is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at The University of Kansas Cancer Center in Kansas City. Prior to coming to The University of Kansas Cancer Center, she held dual faculty positions in both Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology at the RUSH University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. During her tenure at RUSH, she was appointed as an Associate Professor and Director of the Radiation Oncology Residency Program. Dr. Gupta-Burt is uniquely board certified in Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care, allowing her to provide comprehensive compassionate care for all types of cancer, including breast cancer, lung cancer, GI cancers (esophageal and colorectal), and prostate cancer.
She has received multiple grants for research focused on breast cancer and access to care for underserved populations. Dr. Gupta-Burt is a frequently requested speaker and has delivered over a hundred lectures nationally. Dr. Gupta-Burt is passionate about utilizing state-of-the-art treatment technologies including IMRT/IGRT, SBRT, and SRS; as well as the importance of access to care, including clinical trials and coordination of care for rural patients.
